{"id":80,"date":"2020-11-01T14:18:12","date_gmt":"2020-11-01T14:18:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/xn--tierrztlichepraxisfr-ezb75c.live-website.com\/?page_id=80"},"modified":"2023-01-12T16:47:19","modified_gmt":"2023-01-12T15:47:19","slug":"mare-and-foal","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/pferdepraxis-roedig.de\/en\/stuten-fohlen","title":{"rendered":"Mares &amp; Foals"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile is-vertically-aligned-center\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 38%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next to <strong>Follicle tracking<\/strong>, <strong>Artificial insemination <\/strong>Fresh sperm, <strong>Swab sample collection <\/strong>and <strong>Pregnancy examinations <\/strong>always include advice on breeding management, as well as on questions concerning the deworming, vaccination and feeding of mares and foals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In cases of mares with reproductive problems, uterine biopsy (tissue sample from the uterus) is an important diagnostic tool. Uterine flushes can be used on-site for these mares, as well as for mares with uterine infections. Furthermore, I manage difficult births, retained placentas and birth injuries. For sick foals, I provide care, including preparing for any necessary transport to a clinic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I recommend that the natural immune defence of newborn foals be checked by a vet no later than twelve hours after birth. To do this, I immediately check the foal's colostrum and\/or blood for antibodies. The afterbirth should always be stored separately and also examined by a vet.
